What To Expect
At Annesia Counseling everyone is welcome, treated with respect and dignity. Each client is valued and encouraged to maintain their individuality and self determination.
Each counseling session will be treated with strict confidentiality as per ACS Code of Ethics. Counselors at Annesia Counseling Services believe that clients can profit from corrective experiences.
What Happens At The First Session?
This first session is called the Intake session. This session takes about 90 minutes, as the counselor will do a psychosocial evaluation, followed by the goals in the form of a action plan. Both the client and the counselor must collaborate on the plan. This information gathering will allow the counselor to know as much as he/she can about the client and how he/she can best help the client in reaching their goals. Different types of counseling techniques are available and depending on the clients' needs the appropriate technique will be used.
Sessions are regularly scheduled for 50 minutes with 10 minutes wrap up time and evaluation of goal setting. Amount of sessions: Clients will determine this based on their progress and commitment to therapy. Counselor can help client determine the length of stay in therapy as recommended based on progress. Clients have the power to stop the session at any time for whatever reason. This wish will be respected.
